Statement
Penny Fillingham lives and works in Nottinghamshire. She is a practicing Artist, Photographer and Garden Designer.
Over the years she has developed a fascination with humanities relationship to the environment and the way in which we have the ability to sculpt and shape our landscape. Her interests lie within issues of ecology, mythology, science and globalisation. Her work is a thought provoking and often optimistic insight into possible future world in which mankind, by rekindling a love of nature, reforms the attachment and respect necessary in order for the planet to maintain a healthy biosphere.
Penny is currently studying at Nottingham Trent University. Her work has been exhibited at both Nottingham Castle as part of the Nottingham Open Exhibition and more recently as one of a group of eighteen other photographers at the 18 at Angel Row Exhibition in Nottingham city centre.
